This is my other niece Elle who is about 2 and 1/2. And yes, she is sitting by the pool that is in their yard. So yes, they do now have a real pool as well as the small one Grey is in above. Trust me, I asked why you would need both and I still don't understand the reasoning. Something about two kids is too many for one adult to watch...

Here's Grey in her floaty just enjoying her swim party.

Here's the girls swimming with daddy, my brother, Brad. Seems like one is able to watch two. In fact there's like 8 in the pool and one adult. But, yes, small pool needed too. Trust me, I do really understand, but it is funny considering the small pool takes up pretty much the only grass they have in their yard. They are all pool now!

And now is the big moment...the cake! Grey's was not real sure what to do with the cake.

Ok, it looks like she jumped right into it, but seriously, this was probably about twenty minutes after the last picture. She tried being as dainty as she could for the longest time but mommy kept encouraging her to dig in. After a few shoves from mom, we got to this stage.

Next, PLEASE GIVE ME MILK! I think she drank the entire cup of milk before being swept away for a bath and eventually opened presents.

Emily tagged along with me for this trip to Houston. Ever since my brother moved back to Texas she has been meaning to come visit them. It worked out well that she was there to help with preparing the food (because I'm not good at that) and to be someone to hang out with besides my ex-boyfriend. To make a long story short on that, my ex is my sister-in-law's cousin. So I am fortunate enough to get to spend ALL family functions with him. It's a sweet deal, let me tell you! You thought running into your ex at the bar was bad, try Christmas, it really beefs up the excitement! But maybe more on that later...
We went to Sherlock's later after the party was somewhat done. I say that because some people stayed until one, it was quite the rockin' one year old birthday! But we met up with a friend from high school that we hadn't seen in a while. He lives only one town over from my brother and I was glad I finally had the chance to meet up with him! Here's Grey the next morning wearing one of my gifts, a bib I got from the store I work at, Haute Baby.
And this last photo of my montage is Elle playing with Emily's iPhone. I am pretty sure their next add campaign should include her playing with the phone. She caught on quick and was working it all by herself! Now, she wasn't looking up restaurants to eat at or anything. But she did know how to navigate through the pictures, enlarge and shrink them back. It was quite impressive! I guess the iPhone is user friendly!
