Day O' Games

This past Saturday I played an unbelievable amount of drinking games! I think if you combine all the competitive game playing I've done this week, it would add up to every competitive game I've played in my life. I need a break from it. But before I do, let me sum up the days events for you.

Erin and Josh Nowak came in town for Memorial Day. They invited me to go with them to Lake Travis. Josh's friend's parents had a lake house there. So we hung out at the dock a few hours and got a little sun.

Then a storm started a brewin'. So we had to move it back up to the house. It really doesn't look like anything in this picture, but that is a storm, promise.

The house was perfect for just this sort of situation. The whole bottom level was opened up to the outside. They had a beer pong table, a huge regular patio table, a sink, fireplace, bathroom amongst other things. The guys played beer pong. Erin wanted me to play so bad, but I declined on the fact that I didn't think I could handle all that beer. Little did I know it would be in my cards to play the game, just later that day...

Because of my great planning ahead, we had a deck of cards and played "F" the dealer. I never got stuck being the dealer very long, so that is a win in my book!

We left that house around 6ish. I decided I didn't want to go downtown with Erin and Josh. Some of the kickball team was getting together, so I figured I would just have a low key night with them.

Of course, it wasn't really low key. When I got there, they were playing card games. We played a few different games, until we got to one that I think they could have made up or it's just not well known. It was really fun though. It is called Cops and Drug Dealers. For those that liked playing the board game Clue, you'd like this one because it involves the cop figuring out who the drug dealer is. I'd explain the rules to ya'll here but I feel like it just might be too confusing without the visuals.

But everyone later decided they wanted to go to the bar. So much for it being low key. But we went to this really cool place called Lustre Pearl. They put koozies on all bottled drinks, whether or not they expected us to take them, they didn't specify, but we did. They also had hula-hoops all around. And yes, I was tempted to have a hula-hoop grabbing competition, but I refrained myself. They also had beer pong tables and several extra cups everywhere.

So naturally we decided to play flip cup. I mean, the set up was perfect. Well minus the fact that we were now paying at least twice the amount for the beer. But we played a few rounds and then noticed the table next to us was playing the same game and with the same amount of people. So, being the ridiculously competitive group we are, we decided to challenge them. Other people randomly from the bar kept joining in on the game with us. By the end of the night we had what I would guess to be about 24 people playing, if not more. It was unreal! Oh, and we only lost one of probably 10 games. Also unreal.

This is just a side funny thing. Stephanie, Nicole and myself all took a picture together. Right after taking it, the guy said it didn't come out. So I go, "oh yeah I changed the settings on my camera today." And he looked at me and the picture and goes, "yeah, to only show you in the picture?" I didn't know what he was talking about until I looked at this. Wow...I guess I did.
But I changed the settings back and we took another one and it came out better, well for them. I, personally, liked the first one more of me.
But one cab ride later and I found myself being forced to play beer pong. And I worked so hard to not play it earlier in the day. But that's alright my team won two of the three matches. Then I was dunzo. Enough with the games, doesn't matter that I did fairly well all day. There is a limit to how many you can play before they just get annoying. And that is my day o' games!

  1. On a totally random and non-competitive note, I would like to say that I love your playlist. Definitely some of my very favorites. After my 80s gig is over, I might swipe a couple.

  2. You, and anyone else, are welcomed to any of the songs you would like! It's not like I own them anyways. And no, even though I teach Junior High, I do not act like them and get mad when you do something after I do. So swipe away!
