Rachelle from "With One Step" gave me a blog award today. And in case someones missed us saying it somewhere, Rachelle was my next door neighbor growing up. Our families moved into our houses within a week or two of each other (crazy, right?). Our families were good friends, still are in fact! But since that was the same move where I met Emily, that means I have known Rachelle and her family for 20 years now too! What perfect timing for an award from such a friend. I am truly honored she thought of me for this award! And if you have never checked out her blog, you should! She just adopted "Twin Men" from China and always has the best stories about what things the men are getting into!
I think this is where most people that receive this award insert a "Your Blog is Over The Top!" graphic. But since my computer is not allowing me to copy paste or save to ever be found again tonight, I am not. Check out the above blog if you are dying to see the graphic. I am usually not computer challenged, but today, I am.
But I too will pass the award along.
THE AWARD GOES TO....
Chelsea- with "The Life We Love." Chelsea and I met in college and were roommates/suite mates on and off for two years? She is still one of my great friends that I keep up with regularly. She has always had a very interesting blog with a twist of humor that I love. But lately her blog has taken a bit of a turn in direction, now focusing on updating everyone on her husband, Nick, as he battles cancer. With all that is going on in their lives, she still finds the time to write about their experiences so we can all be informed. So for this, your blog is over the top!
There are questions to answer and to pass on. But I don't even want you to go through answering these questions Chelsea. I know you answered some that were similar some time ago and you encouraged me to do the same when I started my blog. But I never did. But I also didn't forget. So look at this as a duel question answering session. One for the award and one as a late answer to a request a friend made!
(Keep in mind I am supposed to be only using one word answers, this is the best I can do!)
1. Where is your cell phone? On the table next to me.
2. Your hair? I need a hair cut!!!
3. Your mother? Where do I start? We'll just sum her up as stubborn.
4. Your father? Was a wonderful man that I wish everyone had gotten the chance to meet.
5. Your favorite food? Type- Mexican. Single "meal"- popcorn.
6. Your dream last night? I remember traveling and there was possibly a plane. If I would've known I was going to have to answer this question, I would've made more of a point to remember it!
7. Your favorite drink? Dr. Pepper
8. Your goal? Run a marathon? Write a book? Finally finish the book I'm reading? It changes by the day honestly...
9. What room are you in? Living room with all my Christmas decorations. If it wasn't for those, I'd probably be in my room writing this!
10. Your hobby? Running, knitting, reading, writing in my blog...
11. Your fear? Heights, Spiders, and that those people in the "Hillbilly Swimming Hole" will come alive and get me (see previous blog).
12. Where do you want to be in 6 years? Somewhere I am happy with my life and what I am doing with it.
13. Where were you last night? In this very same spot!
14. Something you aren't? Someone who is fake.
15. Muffins? This one time I had a cranberry orange muffin at Starbucks. They've never had it again (but then again, I've only been maybe 3 times since - that was like a year and a half ago). I'm not a HUGE fan of muffins by-the-way.
16. Wish list item? A million dollars? A billion? A trillion? Where do you draw the line on money when asking as a wish?
17. Where did you grow up? Texas mainly, but before that I lived in California.
18. Last thing you did? Ate the most delicious dinner my roommates boyfriend, Mitch, made. It was homemade tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich.
19. What are you wearing? Sleeping pants and fuzzy socks with the shirt I wore to work. I think you call that business on the top, party on the bottom.
20. Your TV? Watching Biggest Loser!
21. Your pets? My cat, Picasso. Very appropriately named because she is CRAZY!!!
22. Your friends? I love them!
23. Your life? Love it! (Rachelle - trying not to copy!)
24. Your mood? Happy with a little stress.
25. Missing someone? My father.
26. Vehicle? Volkswagen Passat, and it too could use a good cleaning.
27. Something your not wearing? shoes and make-up
28. Your favorite store? Target, Marshall's and HEB.
29. Your favorite color? I claim it's blue. But if you look at what I own, it's either green or brown.
30. When was the last time you laughed? About 3 seconds ago, I am now watching Conan and there was just a comedian on.
31. Last time you cried? Today, but that was just because I found on my drive home my old "Sad Songs" CD. Which basically consists of the main song from every sad movie you've ever seen. It was like a mini cry fest on my way home. My original goal was to look for my old Christmas CD. Tomorrow I will stay more focused on the original task (and might throw the Sad Songs CD out the window)!
32. Your best friend? Well if you haven't read my previous blog, it's Emily and we just celebrated our 20 year anniversary. I'd say the winter of 1989 was a great time!
33. A place that I go over and over? Would work be too obvious? I do my grocery shopping at Walmart and HEB, so probably there!
34. Someone who emails me regularly? Emily when I am at work. Outside of work it is a text, call or IM through fb.
35. Favorite place to eat? Cheap and easy - Taco Bell. Otherwise- Galaxy Cafe (local restaurant that makes the BEST fish tacos wraps and mac n' cheese I have ever had!).
The end!
The thing I remember most about when we all moved in?
ReplyDelete#1 Michael went for a ride on his bike, had a HUGE crash and had to start his first day of school with a scabby mustache and goatee. Poor kid.
#2 Immediate terrorization from Brad and Gary. Poor me.
#3 The neighbor boy Seth. Was he a mute? He freaked me out.
