Dreams Vs. Reality

Last night I dreamed that I had gotten engaged (guess the eHarmony thing really worked out for me)! But I showed up at Christmas a little late. Everyone had already opened their presents and they were all outside playing with them. The only people inside were my mom, brother, sister-in-law, her mom and Ryan (the ex, but he just sat on the couch and we didn't talk).

I asked where my gifts were and they pointed to a pile of un-wrapped gifts. I asked why they were un-wrapped and they said that they just couldn't wait to find out what I had gotten (which is funny because they would be the people that bought the gifts. But lets not be overly critical, it is a dream.).

Then I started going through my pile and realized that a bunch of the stuff was clothes I was giving my nieces. Somehow there must have been a mix up on who those were to go to (though, once again, I wouldn't think it'd take a genius to figure out I don't wear a 2 or 3T). So when I separated the stuff out, I was left with just one gift. A really cool all-in-one make-up set from some nice make-up store (even in my dreams I can't come up with a great brand name). I asked who gave me it, and my sister-in-law said she and my brother. But she said that they didn't know what to get me, but Rachelle was with them and she recommended that (thanks Rachelle, you are even helpful in my dreams!).

But then I asked, what did my mom get me? And they answered that she didn't get me anything. I even went and asked my mom and she said she didn't get me anything. No, "oh I'm sorry" or anything. Just, "yeah, I didn't get you anything." So I got mad about that but only to be interrupted by my brother to remind me that I had set up an appointment across the street to go try on wedding dresses (I don't know anyone that lives across the street from such a shop, but cool!). So then it dawned on me, maybe my mom's gift was to buy my wedding dress (though I wish dream mom would have told me that because it caused a lot of dream stress)???

Anyways, my mom, brother, Emily (she jumped in here now), and my sister-in-law go to the wedding dress shop. When you walked inside, it looked like Lowe's and had people everywhere. Unfortunately, none of those people were people that could help us to try on dresses (why can't dreams just be good things with no problems or obstacles?). So we left in hopes that an hour later it would be less crowded for us to return.

Then I woke up to my phone getting a text message from Emily. She said, "Ummm, did you see Ryan's fb status for today?" I just knew that it was going to be that he had proposed. So I naturally ran to my computer and saw this as his message, "Michelle and I are now officially Mr. and Mrs. Howard! Oh, and did I tell you we are expecting a little one in the summer?!! How 'bout them apples?"

Well, engaged...married....it's all the same in the end.

Then my phone rang. It was my sister-in-law asking what I wanted for Christmas (thank goodness because that is where the root of my present nightmare stemmed from, no one asking yet what I wanted). So I got the scoop on the wedding first, it was just them and the minister. Bigger wedding will be later, not sure when.

But I thought it was funny. I dreamed about engagements and gift nightmares. It's like my dream was preparing me for what I was going to wake up to.

Which, funny enough, I did add to the list of things I wanted a make-up gift card. I'd take the actual set that was in my dream, if Rachelle, you actually know of where it really exists...haha!
