I'd Hit That

Since we hadn't won enough games, we knew coming into this week this last game didn't really matter much. Win or lose, it wouldn't change anything.

That being said, the Austin Sport & Social club mentioned us as one of the games of the week!

Unfortunately, their games of the week all featured teams that had never won a game. Of course, we have won a few games. But the team we played this week, I'd Hit That, had not. Their whole article was geared towards these guys winning their last game. Since we didn't have a great record, they picked I'd Hit That as having a chance at winning.

How sad for us. I guess it could be worse, we could be them.

OUCH, I feel mean just for saying that.

But lets face it, to have not won a single game IS pretty bad.

Anyways, due to the Skinny Girl Margaritas from the night before, I wasn't feeling in tip-top shape. I was also beginning to get a cold (as cute as Grey is, she got me sick), and the thought of running at all due to the combination of these things was making me even more ill.

Lucky for me, my roommate Jessica and two of her friends wanted to play. I let one of them fill in for me and the other two fill in for others that couldn't make it. It was weird to sit on the side lines and watch the game. It goes by MUCH faster and I have little knowledge of anything that happened.

I do know we had an incompetent ref who would see the play and not call anything until someone on the other team convinced him that the outcome was in their favor. REAL FAIR.

Lets not kid ourselves though. Even if the ref called everything in our favor (and even let us move onto the next base a few times and gave us a few outs when we were in the outfield) we still suck. So that had little effect on the outcome of the game.

But in good news, we were the best thing that happened to I'd Hit That this season! They did manage to win their first (and only) game. I'd love to say that due to the article we had heart and let them win. But we all know the truth.

We played our butts off and we lost like the losers we were. That's how this season ended. With a record of two wins and five loses, we came in tying for fourth to last. Not quite the same outcome as last season. We still had fun (though nothing will ever top the fun we had that first season). All-in-all, it was still worth it. I still love playing and will hopefully play again (though I am not sure I will be able to this fall due to tutoring on Thursdays after school). But you can bet I will most likely do it again!
