Running Behind!

Well it's been a while since I've gotten to blog. I don't want you to think that the vitamins made me forget about blogging. Because they didn't.

But they did give me the motivation to actually start training for the half marathon I am running in a month.

Yes, you heard me correctly START training and it's a month away. Trust me, I know that's not a good idea. Actually, it's pretty much the worst idea ever. It's begging for injury (oh but I hope I don't get injured).

I've run a half marathon before. I know what I should be doing. I would like to blame the majority of my procrastination on this summer being one of the hottest in history.

(Now, I did some light running, but seriously I couldn't run more than two miles before I've feel like I was going to have a heat stroke.)

Though it probably wasn't helping that I spent the summer drinking like I was back in college.

Anyways, the point of this story is that I've replaced all my free time with running, strength training and sleeping (because all this sudden working out does make me unbelievably tired). In fact, the only reason I am getting to write right now is because it's Friday night and instead of going out I am staying in so that I can be up and running by 7 am. The only reason so early is so that I can enjoy the rest of the day full of football watching.

But the real topic of this blog is the fact that my brother and his family came to visit this past weekend. My brother's good friend from high school and college, Gretchen, lives here in Austin and had her first baby three months ago. So they came to see the new baby and visit with everyone. Saturday we went over to the Mitchell's house early enough to watch the Aggie game. We spent something like 7 hours over at their house just hanging out, eating pizza and watching football and babies. Here's all the girls, including baby Miranda (sorry I was really terrible at taking pictures of her, that is the only one I got).
They have the most beautiful view of the Hill Country from their back yard. Plus they have a hiking trial behind their house that leads to a really peaceful place you can unwind and eventually leads to a creek. What a great house! But here I am with Elle, Brad, Grey and Jennifer in Gretchen's backyard.

On Sunday we made a day trip to Fredericksburg. I forgot to ever blog about it, but just two weeks ago I was in Fredericksburg with Emily and her family. This makes four times within a year of going to Fredericksburg! I think I have a problem.
But here is Elle and Grey in their stroller as we were walking down the street. They just started holding hands on their own, it was so cute! I'm not sure why it looks like it's midnight, it was raining pretty bad, but it was still the middle of the day!

Then we bought a cookie for the girls to share. I am not even kidding, people stopped to laugh at Grey's face! I think Elle is a little taken aback by Grey's face too.
On our way out of town we stopped in Luckenbach. My brother had never been but is a big fan of old country music. So it was only right that he get to go. Since it was Sunday there wasn't a lot of people there. It was a good time to go since the bar is only about the size of my bathroom.

It was a very fun and busy weekend! I am glad I got to hang out with them!
Now I have to go, I've got plenty of vitamins to take and I have to get to bed so I can wake up and run a ridiculous amount of miles at some ridiculous time. This is what I get for being the procrastination queen!!!
