A Hard Days Work!

A student teacher at my school told me this story. I have no reason to think that he lied or made up the story. I really don't know him and have never talked to him, so to just randomly make up a story like this would be weirder than this story itself in my opinion.

As this guys story goes, his wife's dad's best-friend's brother (or something to that effect) is mentally retarded (yes it is still politically correct to say that). He is on a fourth grade level, but is able to take care of himself enough to live on his own. Naturally though, several members of his family call and check-in on him throughout the day.

So last week, his mom called him and he said, "I can't talk right now, there's a troll in the closet and I need to feed it."

Knowing her son and the way he is, she didn't think too much of it. But she called him back an hour or two later to check on him again. This time he said with some haste in his voice, "I can't talk now! I've got a troll in the closet and it needs to be fed!" And he immediately hung up the phone.

So she thought, well this doesn't sound good, I better go check on him. So she drove over to his place. When she walked in she found him throwing skittles under his closed closet door.

Then she heard someone yell, "Help! Get me out of here!"

So she opened the closet to find none other than a census worker that had come by her son's house. But it was quite obvious how things had gone so awry, the census worker was also a person with dwarfism.

Him being a person with mental retardation, you can see how the dots in his mind connected.

It could happen to anyone really.

Except that it couldn't.

And when you see a census worker walking around, give them a thanks for their hard work, because that is definitely a hard days work!
