Against the Odds

After several "we need to get togethers" from the ex, this weekend we finally did get together for the first time since the breakup.

My intentions going into this were to not head back down that road. I really have had a long time to think things over and I feel I don't want to be on that path with him. I did want to hang out with him because I do value his friendship.

And against everyone's beliefs of how this type of situation always turns out, it didn't turn out that way. We were just two friends watching the Aggie game hanging out catching up on how each others lives were going. Nothing more.

It was nice to have that old friend back and yet not have to worry about "our relationship."

And because I don't know how to transition out of that conversation but have been meaning to put this on my blog for a while, I will insert this now. Do you remember me mentioning Neon Trees from my Lollapalooza posts? I understand if you do not, I do realize they were a little lengthy. But anyways, Neon Trees was nothing six months ago, on the edge of something at Lollapalooza and are now a hot band with their song "Animal" being played I think every time I turn on the radio. Well, their next song, 1983 is starting to get radio play. And because I love them and I love the year 1983 (birth year), I am very excited about this!
